BVA Eye Scheme

The BVA eye scheme is a series of examinations carried out by a specialised veterinarian. It is designed to see the early onset signs of cataracts, glaucoma and PRA to name a few. It also assesses the general health of the eye and it's surrounding tissue.

We have decided to start including this test in our breeding programme despite it not being a recommended or required test in our breed, simply because we want to ensure we continue to breed dogs with no ocular disease.

Without testing you cannot be sure that a dog has good eyes until it is older and the disease "suddenly" appears.
